The Dutch EU Presidency has collected in a booklet, several inspiring initiatives from different EU countries which contribute to the uptake of space data, one of the priorities of the Dutch EU Presidency. The different projects are listed per country, and below the Greek flag, stands in first position the CityMobil2 pilot in Trikala. The demonstration in Trikala was particularly instructive since automated vehicles operated in the inner-centre of Trikala during six months in real traffic conditions, interracting with other vehicles and pedestrians. The "driverless" experience has been favoured by the Greek legal framework which allows drivers to control vehicles remotely, i.e. from a control room.
Due to this advanced state of development, the demonstration in Trikala deserves its selection as a "success strory", which - according to the Dutch Minister in charge of economic affairs, Mr. Henk Kamp - raises awareness and "serve[s] as [an] inspiration to people working in this field!"
