CityMobil2 as a reference in the NCTR report
In January 2015, the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) published a report on the the state automated public
transportat called "Evaluation of Automated Vehicle Technology for Transit.” The 2016 update recently published is based on the innovative European testing projects, including CityMobil2.
The report focuses on the three large-scale demonstrations of CityMobil2: La Rochelle, Lausanne (EPFL campus) and Trikala. It gives a general presentation of these demonstrations and compares the different features of the routes and vehicles used in the three demonstrations.
In addition, the report also present the main lessons learned of other projects including CarPostal (Switzerland), WEPod (The Netherlands) and the American initiatives led by Contra Costa Transportation Authority and Minnesota Valley Transit Authority.
The report also gives an update on the automated shuttles manufacturers. This section includes the French company EasyMile which has provided shuttles for demonstrations and showcases in the framework of CityMobil2.
