ITS World Congress 2015 (5–9 October 2015) was organised in partnership with the European Commission, ITS America and ITS Asia-Pacific. The Congress wass hosted by TOPOS Aquitaine on behalf of the City of Bordeaux, Bordeaux Metropolis, the Departmental Council of the Gironde and the Aquitaine Region and with the strong support of the French Ministry of Transport, ITS France, CEREMA and IFSTTAR.
In the framework of the ITS World Congress 2015 in Bordeaux, CityMobil2 organised a showcase. The manufacturer EaysMile provided a fleet of four electric EZ10 vehicles. The vehicles carried people between two main sites of the congress, from the Palais des Congrès to the Hall des expositions. The showcase lasted four days and vehicles drove from Tuesday 6 October to Thursday 8 October, from 9:15 am to 6:00 pm and on Friday 9 October, from 9:15 am to 2:00 pm.
More than ademonstration, congressmen andvisitors (including the public on thelast day of the event) were offereda real passenger service, with thepossibility to ride the EZ10 on a 500mtrack along a lake, down to the tramstation. The track was a mixed privateand public road, with single-laneportions. For EasyMile, it was also theperfect use case to demonstrate theability of its supervision technology toseamlessly control a fleet of vehiclesand synchronise schedules accordingto track topology. With more than 2500 passengerstransported in 4 days, the servicewas a real success, demonstratingthe reliability and the maturity of theEZ10. The majority of passengers tookto the EZ10 the second they steppedinto the vehicle; it was perceived asa natural means of transportation,as if automated vehicles have beenaround for years. This confirms thecapability of EasyMile to provide safe, reliable, state-of-the-art driverlessvehicles for modern mobility.
